We love nature! The view from the window can only be so beautiful when nature shines all around the house. We appreciate this at our sustainable hotel in Castelrotto in South Tyrol and prefer to spend our free time outdoors. That is why it is important to us to make our contribution to environmental protection.

Tradition

Our hotel was built in 1979 and has a history dating back to 1751. We are now the third generation to run the hotel. We were the tradition in the house, are deeply connected to the village of St. Michael and we participate in traditional events.

Sustainable interventions

We cherish and care for the structure of our eco-friendly hotel so that it remains intact for a long time to come. During the renovation work in 2022, sustainable construction was our basic idea, which is why we deliberately chose local raw materials from regional craft businesses in South Tyrol.

Regional products

At the breakfast buffet and dinner, we serve good local and seasonal produce. We attach great importance to products from the region and value the cooperation with local suppliers, such as local farmers and the village bakery. The principle of local and regional also applies to drinks.

Conserving water resources

The tap water comes directly from the mountain pasture and is drinking water of the highest quality; we want to protect this valuable resource. We therefore ask you to use it sparingly and to avoid unnecessary water consumption.

Water-saving taps were installed during the renovation work of our sustainable hotel. These mix air into the water and give it a pleasant volume, thereby significantly reducing water consumption.

We also invite you to do without plastic bottles. Each room in our eco-friendy hotel in the Dolomites is equipped with a water carafe, allowing you to enjoy fresh drinking water at any time.

Green Energie

The LED lighting in the house helps us to reduce consumption, the electricity we use is sustainable, clean and renewable green electricity from hydropower. In addition, our house has a system that bundles the heat generated during cooling and heats the swimming pool and hot water.

Waste reduction and waste management

We attach great importance to our waste management, especially waste separation and waste avoidance, please support us in this. You will find waste separation boxes in the hallway.

In addition, we do not use disposable items, the bathrooms are equipped with “zero waste” cosmetics from Vitalis from South Tyrol, and we deliberately do not offer bath slippers. However, if you are missing something for your well-being, please ask, we have a selection of products available at reception.

Cleaning

You have the choice and can decide for yourself whether daily room cleaning is desired – if not, simply attach the door sign. So that we can also significantly reduce the mountains of towels and bed linen, we leave the decision to you, towels on the floor will be replaced, if a change of bed linen is desired, we will be happy to do this.

Environmentally friendly arrival and departure

We would like to promote environmentally friendly arrival and departure, Bressanone and Bolzano are very well connected and easily accessible by train. We are happy to help you organize your journey to us in South Tyrol. You will find a charging station for environmentally friendly travel by electric car. And best of all: we will reward your environmentally friendly journey with a small gift!
